🦜 Cherry-headed conures, native to Ecuador and Peru, have been spotted in the city since 1911. Legend says... a woman burned down a pet store and released the birds... or a pet store truck crashed and the birds escaped. Legend also says they arrived through exotic pet trades and were eventually released by their owners. No one really knows 👀 but you can find them around the Ferry Building, Mission Dolores, Telegraph Hill, and even in Brisbane!
